Cycle

Cycle is a collaborative stop-motion animation project that I worked on with Simin Wu. The people of Yunnan, China, fondly for mushrooms; however, if not cooked correctly, certain types can be poisonous and cause hallucinations.

Each year, especially in the summertime, there are countless reports of people being admitted to hospitals due to mushroom-induced hallucinations, during which they commonly see small elves dancing around them. Despite the dangers, individuals continue to consume these toxic mushrooms after they recover, perpetuating a vicious cycle. Inspired by this phenomenon, we created our animation, Cycle.
